asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will give details of the membership of each semi-State and State-sponsored body under his aegis giving the names, period of appointment and remunerations to date including all expenses paid and any other payment including foreign travel.
Written Answers. - Members of State Bodies.
The Combat Poverty Agency, which was established in September 1986, is the only State-sponsored body under the aegis of my Department. The Combat Poverty Agency Act, 1986, which set up the agency on a statutory basis, specifically precludes the remuneration of any person for acting as a member of the agency. The question of payment of expenses for the members, including foreign travel expenses, is a matter for the agency.
The current members of the agency are listed below and have been appointed for a three year period from 18 September 1986: Noreen Kearney (Chairperson), Tony Brown (Vice-Chairperson), Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy, John Hynes, Tom Bogue, Helen Burke, Mary Whelan, Vincent O'Loughlin, Michael Punch, Cathal MacArtain.
