asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the fact that approval has not been given for a permanent extension to Currabaha national school, County Waterford, an alternative scheme has been submitted; and if sanction will be forthcoming.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a question on 3 December 1987 regarding the building project for Currabaha national school, County Waterford.
The school authorities have since submitted an alternative scheme for my Department's consideration. This was found to be unacceptable and it will be necessary to discuss a revision thereof with the authorities. The question of sanctioning an alternative scheme does not accordingly arise at the present juncture.
