Vol. 377 No. 9

Written Answers. - Health Date Collection.

202.

asked the Minister for Health if he will be making funds available to the Irish College of General Practitioners to enable this college to go ahead with the planned organisation of a number of practices to monitor the collecting of information in areas such as infectious diseases.

Under the Infectious Diseases Regulations, 1981, the Department of Health and the local Directors of Community Care and Medical Officers of Health currently collect information on the incidence of infectious diseases, on the basis of reports submitted by general practitioners.

My Department will be meeting with the Irish College of General Practitioners in the near future to discuss their proposal.
