The Board of Córas Iompair Éireann is responsible for allocating the subvention for the Aran Islands ferry services out of their total annual Exchequer subvention on the basis of the needs of the services. The subvention figures for the services in respect of 1987 and 1988 are not yet available and will be published in the Board's annual report and audited accounts for those years. The report and accounts for 1987 will be presented to both Houses of the Oireachtas, when they become available in the course of the next few months.
