I have had inquiries made of the Southern Health Board which is responsible for the provision of home help services in the Cork area. I am informed that there are 436 home helps operating in the Cork North Lee area and 301 home helps in the Cork South Lee area. The board has also indicated that the method and rate of payment for the home help service varies according to the level of task carried out by the home help.
