Vol. 378 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Lottery Beneficiaries.

29.

asked the Taoiseach when a decision will be made on individual applications for the national lottery being dealt with by his Department; and if a specific application relating to arts (details supplied) in County Wexford will be considered for funding in view of the financial problems they now have.

30.

asked the Taoiseach whether the amounts being received by each project, in Cork City and County, assisted with funds from the national lottery, are in each case sufficient to complete the projects, with whatever local funds are available; where such funds are not so sufficient whether a commitment has been given to allocate further funds from the next allocation; and when such moneys will be paid.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 30 together.

The funds available from the national lottery in 1987 and 1988 for arts and culture projects have been allocated. The allocation of 1989 lottery funds among the many further applications on hands will not arise until towards the end of this year. It would not be appropriate to give details, supplied in confidence, of the financial position of beneficiaries of lottery allocations. No commitments for future allocations were made in regard to the projects referred to by Deputy Barry.
