asked the Minister for Energy if he will give the breakdown of gas sales for both the Dublin Gas Company and for natural gas as a whole in each year 1985 to 1987 inclusive between, (a) domestic consumers; (b) commercial consumers; (c) industrial consumers whose alternative is heavy fuel oil; and (d) industrial consumers whose alternative is gas oil.

Data in relation to gas sales to different market sections are provided in Bord Gáis Éireann's annual reports — copies of which are in the Dáil Library. As required by the Gas (Amendment) Act, 1987, the report and accounts for 1987 will show the results for BGE's operations in Dublin as well as for BGE as a whole.
The Dublin Gas Company is a private sector company in receivership. Although Bord Gáis Éireann assumed ownership of its assets on 3 November 1987, information relating to its activities in earlier years is not automatically available to me.
