asked the Minister for the Environment when he received for approval the tender for the building of five county council houses in Carlinstown, County Meath; and when he will sanction same.

196.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he received for approval the tender for the building of four county council houses in Ballivor, County Meath; and when he will sanction same.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 195 and 196 together.

There is no proposal before my Department for a housing scheme at Carlinstown, County Meath.

The tender submission for the scheme at Ballivor, County Meath, was received in my Department in January 1987. It was not possible to sanction this scheme in 1987 as it could not be funded within the allocation for local authority housing for that year.

In relation to the approval of housing schemes in 1988, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions No. 95 on 23 February 1988 and No. 61 on 24 February 1988.
