Vol. 378 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Transport Service.

93.

asked the Minister for Education if an extension of the school transport service will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford to a special school in view of the hardship involved for the family concerned.

The Department provides transport facilities for eligible children where this can be done within reasonable cost limits.

It would not be open to the Department to sanction the cost, which would be inordinate, of extending the special transport service for the pupil in question to and from his home. The pick-up point of the service offered is approximately 20 miles from the school.
