The draft legislative proposals for the establishment of the new forestry company are now almost ready. They will be submitted to Government within a matter of weeks and, following Government consideration, introduced in the Houses of the Oireachtas shortly thereafter. If these proposals are approved, it is intended to quickly appoint the board of the company and a chief executive to take all necessary steps to have the company fully operational at a very early date.
