asked the Minister for Education if Lismore GAA club, County Waterford, meet the criterion laid down to qualify for grant-aid under the national lottery; and if so, when payment of same will issue.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 66, 67, 68 and 69 together.

My Department have not received any formal applications from any of the projects named, (i) Lismore GAA club, (ii) Sliabh gCua community centre, (iii) Portlaw soccer club or (iv) Ballyduff soccer club.

Before the availability of a grant for the projects in question can be considered, it will be necessary for the organisations to apply formally for grant-aid under the Department's capital grant scheme for the construction of recreational facilities. Copies of the application forms and conditions have been sent to the Deputy.

I must stress, however, that the keen demand for the relatively limited funds available means that financial assistance cannot be presumed in respect of an application which may be submitted by any group.
