asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the appointment of a remedial teacher for schools (details supplied) in County Cork; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a large number of pupils need such a teaching facility.

Available remedial teaching posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of educational need. The number of remedial posts to be sanctioned in any school year would depend on the financial resources available to the Department.
This application will be considered in conjunction with those on hand in the light of the availability of such posts in the future.
