Vol. 379 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Allowance.

121.

asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 who is a ward of court will continue to be paid disabled persons' maintenance allowance until such time as the compensation awarded to him is made available to him; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The granting of disabled person's maintenance allowance in any particular case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned having regard to all the circumstances of the case.

I have had inquiries made from the Eastern Health Board in this case and I have been informed that payment of the allowance was discontinued with effect from week commencing 8 January 1988 as the person was already in a position to derive an income from the compensation awarded.
