Information relating to hospital workload is measured in terms of patients discharged rather than patients admitted and this information is set out below. Data for 1987 is currently being compiled. The total number of patients discharged as a percentage of the total population refers to the numbers of discharges in the relevant years, rather than the actual number of patients discharged in those years.
