Vol. 382 No. 5

Written Answers. - Anglo-Irish Agreement.

28.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if, pending the completion of the review of the Anglo-Irish Agreement, the Government will suspend the meetings of the conference and agree to the relocation of the Maryfield Secretariat outside of Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Government have repeatedly made clear that they are fully committed to using the mechanisms of the Anglo-Irish Agreement, particularly the Conference and Secretariat, for the benefit of all the people of Northern Ireland and particularly of the Nationalist community. The sense of Deputy de Rossa's question would be at variance with this overall attitude of the Government.
