Vol. 382 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

80.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm development grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The grant will be paid as soon as practicable along with other grants certified about the same time. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a grant has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether in view of the delay in the issuing of application forms for cattle headage grants, he will extend the closing date now set at 20 June 1988.

There was no particular delay in the issuing of the 1988 application forms for cattle and equines headage grants. Posting of forms was completed a clear ten days before 20 June 1988 but in view of reported delays in delivery of the forms to farmers in certain parts of the country, I have decided to extend the 1988 closing date by a week to 27 June 1988.
