Vol. 383 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

36.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant due to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry has not been paid.

Following receipt of notification of completion of works found to be outstanding at a previous inspection a further inspection, with a view to payment of this grant, will be carried out as soon as possible.

37.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has allocated a grant for the new bridge at Carhan, Caherciveen, County Kerry.

A road grant has not been allocated for this scheme.

I understand from the local authority that the preliminary report on the proposed bridge is now being finalised by consultants and that the authority expect that it will be ready for submission to my Department shortly. The question of allocating a road grant towards the cost of the work is being considered in the context of the published Estimates for road grants for 1989.

38.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for early payment of a mortgage subsidy due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The third instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid to the Housing Finance Agency for crediting to the applicant's account when he submits the claim form duly completed and certified.

39.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when payment will be made.

There has been no undue delay; the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.
