Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - Clondalkin, Dublin, School Accommodation.

156.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the accommodation situation at St. Ronan's national school, Bawnogue, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, having regard to the fact that the number of incoming classes is well in excess of the numbers outgoing, giving rise to an acute accommodation problem which leaves the school three rooms short at present and by all indications the situation will be worse in 1990 and thereafter.

The accommodation at St. Ronan's national school consists of 16 classrooms, a general purpose room, a remedial teacher room and a library.

Projected enrolments for the next few years have been submitted and the school authorities have requested that additional permanent accommodation be provided.

That request is being examined in my Department in the context of the overall availability of pupil places in the area.
