Vol. 388 No. 8

Written Answers. - Commercial Vehicle Parking.

115.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether any progress has been made in finding parking space for commercial vehicles in Dublin, the lack of which has held up his plans to impose tighter regulations on the parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas.

Dublin Corporation have not yet completed the task of identifying alternative sites for the overnight parking of large commercial vehicles. However, I understand that considerable progress has been made and that the corporation hope in the near future to furnish the required information to the Garda Síoch-ána who will be primarily responsible for the development of the statutory provisions appropriate to the introduction of the specific controls required to apply restrictions on the parking of large vehicles.
