asked the Minister for Justice the total number of gardaí in each of the following Garda stations in Cork city for each year from 1980 to 1989 inclusive: (a) Bridewell, (b) Union Quay, (c) Mayfield, (d) Gurranabraher, (e) Mallow Road, (f) Watercourse Road, (g) Blarney, (h) Ballincollig and (i) Glanmire.

The particulars sought in the question are set out in the following table. The precise allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations varies from time to time in the light of changing needs and circumstances. The numbers assigned to Union Quay Garda station, which is the divisional headquarters for the Cork east division, and to Mayfield and Gurranabraher stations, which are district headquarter stations, include specialist staff and units that operate on a divisional or district basis.
