Vol. 393 No. 3

Written Answers. - Carysfort National School.

125.

asked the Minister for Education if she will outline any provisions she has made in order to extend the existing national school at Carysfort, County Dublin, in order to cater for the expected influx of new families, resulting from the sale of the land at Carysfort training college.

Carysfort Convent national school has a principal plus seven teachers and 11 classrooms and ancillary accommodation. The surplus accommodation in this school would be available to cater for any immediate increase in enrolments.

It would be a matter for the school authorities of the Carysfort national school to acquire any site extension to the school. There are no specific proposals at present to provide an extension to the school but it is proposed to discuss the matter generally with the school authorities at an early date.
