Vol. 393 No. 4

Written Answers. - Full-Time Care for Autistic Patient.

160.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who is autistic has not been allocated a place in St. Paul's, Beaumont, Dublin 9 for full-time care having regard to the fact that she was allocated a place at same on 1 September 1989.

I have had inquiries made of the Eastern Health Board and I have been informed that the person referred to by the Deputy is on a priority waiting list for residential care at St. Paul's Hospital, Beaumont. A vacancy is not immediately available at St. Paul's but the board is hopeful that it will be in a position to place this person as early as possible in the new year. In the meanwhile, I understand that she is attending the special school at St. Paul's on a day basis.
