Vol. 393 No. 4

Written Answers. - Radioactive Material.

103.

asked the Minister for Energy if he will make a statement on a report from the Nuclear Energy Board that small quantities of deadly radioactive caesium 137 and plutonium had been measured in mussels in Carlingford Lough; and if he will give an assurance that people who eat large amounts of shellfish will not be harmed because of the levels of radioactive material found therein.

I have nothing to add to the information contained on page 17 of the 1988 Annual Report of the Nuclear Energy Board which is available in the Library of the House.
