Vol. 393 No. 4

Written Answers. - CERT Training Courses.

102.

asked the Minister for Labour if, in view of the high incidence of employment in the tourism industry in the Dingle area of County Kerry during the tourist season, he will very strongly recommend to CERT to arrange a hotel and catering training course for these workers over the winter period at a Dingle centre.

I understand from CERT that they plan to establish a temporary training centre in Dingle during the period January to April 1990. The centre will provide training for 100 people. The provision of training for those already in the industry is primarily a matter for employers. CERT on request from employers will assist them provide such training through the provision of appropriate courses at strategic locations.
