Price control generally was abandoned in 1986 and with it the structures for collecting and analysing a wide range of information.
At present information is collected which enables a maximum price to be fixed, at wholesale and retail level, on premium petrol and auto-diesel. I do not have similar data in relation to home heating oil which is not subject to statutory price control.
