Vol. 393 No. 10

Written Answers. - Off-Farm Income Limit Regulation.

38.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the cost of removing the off-farm income limit in regulation relating to the payment of the various headage schemes.

The full year gross cost is of the order of £12 million.

On the basis of a 50 per cent recoupment from the EC, the net cost to the Exchequer of removing the off-farm income limit from Ireland's disadvantaged areas schemes is about £6 million in a full year. If the EC recoupment rate is increased, the net cost will decrease correspondingly.
