The full year gross cost is of the order of £12 million.
On the basis of a 50 per cent recoupment from the EC, the net cost to the Exchequer of removing the off-farm income limit from Ireland's disadvantaged areas schemes is about £6 million in a full year. If the EC recoupment rate is increased, the net cost will decrease correspondingly.
