asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will make a statement to Dáil Éireann on his return from negotiations in Brussels after Council of Ministers' meetings; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Council of Ministers' Meetings.

The Deputy will be aware that, in the normal course of events, Community items of major importance to Irish agriculture are dealt with in the context of the annual farm price negotiations. In accordance with established practice, therefore, a report on the conclusion of these negotiations is provided by me to the Dáil. In the event of its being warranted, however, a statement in respect of substantive issues arising in the course of Council meetings held outside the context of the annual farm price review would, of course, be furnished.
