Vol. 394 No. 1

Written Answers. - Castlehaven (Cork) School.

221.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the completion of repairs to the school at Castlehaven, County Cork; if her attention has been drawn to the concern expressed by parents because of such delays; and if the school will be available for occupation next term.

I am aware of the situation at Castlehaven national school, County Cork. The contract for the improvements to the school, has taken longer than originally expected because additional works of a substantial nature which were requested, are being carried out. Tender documents had to be prepared for the additional items and this was necessarily time-consuming. The Department's local professional advisers expect that the works will be fully completed by February 1990.
