At present trainees over 25 years of age are not eligible for grants supported by the European Social Fund. However, this will change when new regulations come into effect in January 1990, and from that date onwards all students following approved ESF-aided courses in the regional technical colleges and colleges of technology will be eligible for fee remission and maintenance allowances.
