1 On its introduction on 1 September 1982 the following rates of duty applied to foreign travel: travel by aircraft to destinations other than Northern Ireland, £3; travel by ship to destinations other than Great Britain, £3; travel by ship to Great Britain and the Isle of Man, £2.
2 With effect from 1 April 1983 the rate of duty for foreign travel by ship or aircraft to all destinations other than Northern Ireland became £5.
