asked the Minister for Justice if he will review the position of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 who was bailsperson for her daughter, a seriously ill AIDS victim who absconded, was arrested and released a short time afterwards on health grounds; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the person concerned cannot afford to pay the bail; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Payment of Bail.
62.
Estreatment of bail in this case was ordered by the court and it is open to the person concerned to appeal the matter to the courts. I am not clear what exactly the Deputy has in mind by way of review but if he will write to me outlining the circumstances, I will communicate with him directly.
