137 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of disability benefit appeals submitted to his Department for each of the years from 1986 to 1989 inclusive; the number of disability benefit applicants found incapable of work on appeal during each of the above years; and the number of appellants during these years who were employed as seafarers.
The information requested by the Deputy concerning disability benefit appeals is set out hereunder, so far as it is available. Statistics are not maintained in a manner which shows the occupation of disability benefit appellants.
