Vol. 395 No. 3
26 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Defence if he has any plans to increase the competitiveness of the Army Equitation School in 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In 1989 six showjumping horses were purchased for the Army Equitation School. In the Defence Vote 1990 there is a provision of £100,000 for the purchase of additional horses for the school.
In the light of the results achieved, I am satisfied that the Army Equitation School have demonstrated their ability to compete successfully at the highest level both at home and abroad. I am confident that they will continue to do so.
