Ceist:89 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a full report on the seizure of a motor vehicle by Customs and Excise Officers on 18 August 1989 which is the property of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that a motor vehicle was seized by Officers of Customs and Excise on 18 July 1989, from the person in question on the grounds that it was imported without payment of the proper import charges due.
Legal proceedings for the forfeiture of the motor vehicle and against the person concerned have been ordered.
