91 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance when a tax free allowance will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; if the person concerned will be taken off emergency tax as soon as possible; and if his tax situation will be brought up-to-date.
The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the information available to the inspector of taxes indicates that the taxpayer ceased employment on 29 September 1989. There is no record of his having resumed employment since then.
He submitted a claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment on 19 October 1989. The inspector wrote to him on 6 November 1989 requesting his cessation certificate (P45) to enable his claim to be processed. The form has not been submitted to date. A reminder was issued on 1 February 1990.
