66 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has any plans to meet any organisations representing Irish emigrants abroad in 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
As recently as two weeks ago, I had a meeting in Dublin with the Federation of Irish Societies and discussed with them matters impinging on the Irish in Britain.
I have also, in the past, availed of the opportunity of my visits abroad to meet representatives of organisations involved with Irish emigrants as has the Minister of State at my Department. I will continue to do so in the future. While at the moment I have no such meetings scheduled, officials of my Department and of our missions abroad do, of course, maintain close contact with Irish emigrant organisations and keep me informed of their concerns.
