My Department has no proposals to extend the pier at Ballyglass.
Consideration of proposals for works is a matter in the first instance for Mayo County Council. My Department recently sought proposals from local authorities, including Mayo County Council, for projects at harbours and piers which they consider would be justified in the fishery interest. A reply has been received from Mayo County Council within the last few days and the contents will be considered along with replies received from other local authorities.
