Vol. 395 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Kerry Break-ins.

Dick Spring

Ceist:

155 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the high number of break-ins in the Ballyduff area of County Kerry; and if he has satisfied himself with the level of gardaí stationed in the area.

The Garda authorities inform me that since the beginning of 1989 six burglaries were committed in the Ballyduff area and that in four of these cases the perpetrators have been apprehended. The Garda authorities have assured me that they are satisfied that the current strength of one sergeant and one garda at Ballyduff station, supported by mobile units operating from Ballybunion and the district headquarters at Listowel, is adequate to meet local policing needs.
