Vol. 396 No. 2
74 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will give a break-down of the sum allocated to payments for agency services in the 1990 Estimates; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
It is presumed the Deputy is referring to the allocation of £15,260,000 made for payments for agency services under subhead D of the Social Welfare Vote in the abridged version of the Estimates for 1990.
The allocation comprises (a) £11,980,000 in respect of the encashment of social assistance pensions and allowances by An Post, (b) £1,130,000 in respect of the production of pension, allowance and child benefit order books, and (c) £2,150,000 for payments to certifiers for medical certificates issued to insured persons free of charge under section 127 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981.
