Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

180 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be made.

There has been no undue delay; the grant will be paid as soon as possible.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

181 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment , having regard to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 309 of 30 January 1990, if he will give evidence to prove that all five instalments of a mortgage subsidy were paid having regard to the fact that only four instalments reached the applicants concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The fifth instalment of the mortgage subsidy was paid to the Housing Finance Agency on 13 October 1989 by which time the loan had been redeemed. The agency forwarded payment to Kildare County Council who are now arranging to transfer the amount to the persons named.
