Vol. 396 No. 4

Written Answers. - Remedial Works Grant.

Mervyn Taylor

Ceist:

109 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Dublin County Council for a grant or for funds to carry out remedial works to houses in the Limekiln Farm Estate, Walkinstown, Dublin 12; the remedial works which are required to be carried out; the houses, in particular, which require such works; the amount of the application submitted by Dublin County Council; when he will give a decision on the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A proposal under the remedial works scheme has been received from the council in respect of the refurbishment of 190 dwellings in this estate at an estimated cost of some £1.75 million. The principal works for which funding has been sought are external wall refurbishment and the replacement of windows. The proposal is the subject of discussions between the Department and the housing authority and a decision will be made as soon as possible.
