78 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment , in relation to the Western Parkway Motorway Project, whether the scheme approved by his Department in December 1986 provided for adequate landscaping on the outside of the boundary wall at Park Drive, Castleknock, Dublin 15; if so, who has responsibility for having the work carried out; when it will be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I presume the Deputy is referring to the approval, in December 1987, of the proposal of Dublin County Council to appoint a contractor for the west link section of the Western Parkway which adjoins Park Drive. The contract did not provide for landscaping work which is being carried out by the local authority in association with West Link Toll Bridge Ltd. This company is financing the project.
A significant part of the landscaping has now been completed. I understand that landscaping work at the location mentioned will be carried out later this year.
