Vol. 396 No. 9

Written Answers. - Naturalisation Application.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

139 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if he will make a favourable decision regarding the request of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 for naturalisation having regard to the fact that a year has elapsed since the application was last considered and to the fact that a commitment was given to review the request at that time; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am in the process of reviewing the application for naturalisation of the person referred to in the question. I will advise the Deputy of my decision on the application in due course.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

140 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 has made a second application for naturalisation and is supported in this by his estranged wife and mother of his two children; if he will review the case sympathetically; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The second application for naturalisation by the person referred to in the question was lodged on Wednesday last and will be considered in due course.

I should say that I am aware of the reasons for the refusal of the previous application and that I would have to be satisfied that there were very substantial changes before I would approve any application.
