138 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Justice the reason leave for gardaí in the Trim district of County Meath, has been cancelled by the Garda Commissioner; if shortage of Garda representatives in the area is responsible for such action; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a local officer in the Garda district in question decided that it was necessary to curtail the granting of annual leave to gardaí in the light of prevailing circumstances. The matter has now been resolved.
