Vol. 396 No. 9

Written Answers. - Teagasc Training Centre.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

100 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will intervene in the proposed sale of the Teagasc Agricultural Training Centre at Summerhill, Wexford; if he will ensure that Teagasc re-examine this proposal in view of the fact that it will cost extra money because of (1) the existing debt on the property and (2) the cost of refurbishing Johnstown Castle, to accommodate these facilities; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that in other areas, such as Carlow, proposals to sell such centres were subsequently altered; if he will reconsider the matter in view of the lack of consultation with the staff concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This is an internal matter for Teagasc.
