Vol. 397 No. 2

Written Answers. - Welfare Services.

Mary Flaherty

Ceist:

94 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for Health the number of health centres in the Dublin area which are involved in the provision of supplementary welfare services; the number which have provision for private interview; if he is satisfied with the facilities provided for private interview; and if he has any plans to improve the situation.

Sixty four health centres in the Dublin area provide supplementary welfare services. All of these health centres have private interviewing facilities. However, in one health centre where three community welfare officers operate, only two of the officers have private interviewing facilities at present. The Eastern Health Board have undertaken to remedy the situation without delay.
