Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Extension.

Ruairí Quinn

Ceist:

190 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education, having regard to the fact that the builder of an extension to Lisnagry national school, County Clare has received the contractual documents, when the contract will be signed; if her attention has been drawn to the urgency of this situation having regard to the fact that this school is operating with only three classrooms instead of eight, five of the rooms being damaged in the recent storms; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The contract for the extension of Lisnagry (Richill) national school, Limerick, was placed on 7 March 1990. The builder commenced work this week.

I am fully aware of the situation in relation to the operation of the school and a decision on the provision of suitable classroom facilities for the duration of the building contract will be made at an early date.
