21 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm grant for a slatted unit will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the date on which the application was made; the date on which the inspection took place; the reason for the delay in this case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
An application for the work in this case was received on 1 March 1989 and an approval issued on 18 July 1989. Notification of completion of work was received on 9 November 1989. The final inspection took place on 6 December 1989, an earlier inspection on 16 November having shown that the works were not yet completed to specifications.
The delay in payment was due to the applicant's failure to submit his farm accounts by 31 December 1989. The accounts were duly received on 31 January 1990 and the grant will be paid shortly.
