Vol. 397 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin School Rebuilding.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

168 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education, following the destruction of pre-fabricated classrooms by fire at the Central Model School, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, the alternative accommodation which is being made available; if the plans for the rebuilding of the old school will be expedited; the time scale involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Five pre-fabricated classrooms which had served the infants' school at the Central Model Schools, Marlboro St., Dublin 1 were recently damaged by a fire and require to be replaced. A builder was engaged for the works last week and it is expected that the replacement new prefabricated classrooms will be available before Easter. As regards the question of the reconstruction and refurbishment of the Deverill Place building I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his parliamentary question on 15 February 1990.
