Ceist:171 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the extension of a primary school (details supplied) in County Wexford; when work will commence; and if she will expedite the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 169 and 171 together.
Tenders for the proposed extension to the National School in Co. Wexford referred to have been forwarded by the school authorities to my Department and have been examined. A number of points in relation to the project had to be clarified and these were fully discussed with the school authorities and their consultants at a meeting in my Department last week. I am not in a position, at this stage, to say when building works will commence.
